Smart & Biggar/Fetherstonhaugh is proud to have been recognized with four prestigious awards by the UK publication Managing Intellectual Property (MIP). The firm was chosen as the 2011 Canadian IP Firm of the Year, Canadian Trademark Prosecution Firm of the Year, the Canadian Trademark Contentious Firm of the Year and was also honoured as having successfully handled the Canadian Case of the Year for the Federal Court’s decision in Amazon.com, Inc. v. Commissioner of Patents, 2010 FC 1011.

The awards were presented at MIP’s 2011 North America Awards ceremony, held on March 29th, 2011 in Washington D.C. The ceremony recognizes excellence in the global IP industry and was attended by IP practitioners from across Canada and the United States.

For many years, Smart & Biggar/Fetherstonhaugh has received various awards from MIP, and the firm was honoured to be the only Canadian firm to receive a total of four awards at this year's ceremony.
