Smart & Biggar/Fetherstonhaugh shortlisted for the Euromoney LMG Americas Women in Business Law Awards
April 9, 2013

The shortlist for the second annual Euromoney Legal Media Group Americas Women in Business Law Awards has been released, and Smart & Biggar/Fetherstonhaugh is very proud to be featured among this year’s nominees.

Daphne Lainson, a partner in our Ottawa office, has been nominated for the Rising Star award in Intellectual Property and is the only Canadian to be recognized in the category. Ms. Lainson has been honoured with several awards in recent years, including being named as one of LEXPERT’s Rising Stars in 2012, and we are very proud of her accomplishments.

Smart & Biggar/Fetherstonhaugh has also been nominated for a number of other categories. We are the only Canadian firm to be nominated for Best National Mentoring Program in North America, and we are the only boutique firm to be shortlisted under Best Canadian Firm.

We have also been nominated as Best National Firm in North America for Women in Business Law, Best National Firm for Diversity, Best National Firm in North America for Work-Life Balance, and Best National Firm in North America for Talent Management.

The nominations for the awards are based on research performed and submissions received by the Euromoney Legal Media Group. The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 5 at Essex House in New York City, and we extend our warm congratulations to all of the other nominees.
