Smart & Biggar’s Ekaterina Tsimberis named a Rising Star in Intellectual Property Law at the 2015 Euromoney LMG Americas Women in Business Law Awards

Smart & Biggar is pleased to announce that Ekaterina Tsimberis has been recognized by Euromoney LMG as a Rising Star in Intellectual Property Law at the 2015 Euromoney LMG Americas Women in Business Law Awards. She was the only Canadian nominated for this award and the only lawyer in North America to receive this prominent recognition.

The nominations for the awards are based on research performed and submissions received by Euromoney Legal Media Group. The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, June 3rd at JW Marriott Essex House in New York City.

Ekaterina is an associate in our Montreal office and holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from McGill University, a Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Montréal and is a registered trademark agent. Ekaterina practises exclusively in litigation in all areas of intellectual property law, notably in the fields of trademarks, copyrights, patents and industrial designs. She calls on over a decade of experience to assist clients faced with litigation related to trademark infringement, copyright infringement and passing-off proceedings before the Federal Court of Canada. She also represents clients in trademark oppositions and section 45 proceedings (proving use/non-use of a registered trademark) before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the Federal Court. As a Canadian trademark agent, Ekaterina also acts on behalf of local and foreign clients before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office to secure trademark registrations, oppose applications, and strike out registrations.
