Smart & Biggar Celebrates Pride

This month Smart & Biggar joined in the recognition and celebration of the LGBTQ2+ community and their contributions to Canadian culture. By observing Pride in the workplace, we celebrate all of our team members, regardless of gender expression, gender identity and sexual orientation.

We kicked-off June by welcoming Anne Creighton, president of Toronto PFLAG, for a special lunch & learn on ‘How to be an ally.’ This event took place in Toronto and was webcast live so that all of our offices could join.

The Toronto office also hosted a colourful breakfast ahead of the Pride Celebration weekend, catered by Presidential Gourmet, a certified LGBT Business Enterprise. Our team enjoyed smoothie popsicles and yogurt parfaits, served alongside breakfast sandwiches and rainbow bagels.

We look forward to celebrating in each Smart & Biggar office, as Pride continues across Canada.

Smart & Biggar recently received the ‘Best national firm for diversity (North America)' award at the LMG Women and Business Law Awards, for our commitment to advocacy for all team members, enabling personal and professional growth both inside and outside the organization and innovation in supporting work/life balance.

Smart & Biggar is Canada's largest firm practicing exclusively in intellectual property and technology law, with offices in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary. We are leaders in intellectual property and technology law and have been serving clients for over a century. For more information, please visit smart-biggar.ca
