Smart & Biggar recognized as “Canadian Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year” at Managing Intellectual Property Awards

Smart & Biggar is proud to have been recognized by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) as Canada’s “Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year”. This honour reflects the firm’s position in the market as Canada’s leading law firm for Patents.

The 2019 awards were presented at MIP's North America Awards ceremony, held on April 4th, 2019 at Essex House in New York City. Partner’s Matthew Zischka and Yoon Kang were on hand to represent the firm and receive the award.

Smart & Biggar has long been recognized by MIP as a leader in IP, and this year the firm was nominated for awards across five categories. Past awards received from MIP include: Specialty IP Firm of the Year 2018, Trademark Contentious Firm of the Year 2017, Patent Contentious Firm of the Year 2018. The firm has also been proudly honoured with several milestone case of the year awards, for precedent setting cases in IP, including:
