Smart & Biggar partners deliver patent and trademark courses for IPIC at McGill University

Smart & Biggar partners Ekaterina Tsimberis, Christian Bolduc, Philip Lapin and Matthew Zischka share their expertise in trademarks and patents as lecturers for the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada’s (IPIC) summer courses in IP, hosted at McGill University.

Ekaterina Tsimberis returns to her alma matter to once again serve as the Assistant Director of the course” Understanding Trademarks” from July 23 to 29. Joining Ekaterina are Montreal partner Christian Bolduc, who lectured on “Preparing Trademark Applications and Use and Registrability Opinions”, on Monday, July 23rd, and Ottawa partner Philip Lapin, who will give overview, context and strategy to opposition proceedings on Wednesday, July 25th.

On Monday, July 16th, Toronto partner Matthew Zischka presented on “Supporting the Invention Patent Claims” as part of the program’s “Understanding Patents” course.

Each summer, the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and McGill University gather some of the best practitioners in the field of intellectual property to conduct a series of intensive, practical summer courses and workshops.
