Matthew Zischka's practice focusses on securing and exploiting intellectual property rights, particularly for high technology concerns. He is frequently involved in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the electrical, software, electronics, mechanical, and electro-mechanical fields. His experience extends from simple mechanical inventions to complex inventions in the telecommunications, microprocessor and graphics industries. 

Matthew often counsels corporate clients in: establishing intellectual property policies; establishing licensing programs; structuring transactions; conducting due diligence; and addressing assertions of patent infringement.

Matthew actively speaks and lectures on patent law. He has been a sessional instructor with the Faculty of Law at Queen's University where he taught courses in patent law and patent policy, and he is a regular lecturer in numerous professional development programs. He has also been a member of the Patent Agent Examination Board (2003-2005).
