Martin Tremblay leverages intellectual property, notably patents, to assist clients in achieving their business objectives.

Martin develops and manages patent portfolios that support clients’ business strategies and aim to produce commercial results. He advises on issues relating to patentability, patent validity, and patent infringement, and in due diligence pertaining to transactions such as M&As and investments. He is also involved in patent litigation matters.

Focussing on the fields of mechanical engineering, telecommunications, and information technology, Martin has drafted and prosecuted patent applications on products and technologies in a variety of areas, including sports gear, tracked vehicles, turbomachinery, telecommunication systems, radio frequency asset tracking, and online transaction processing.

Martin works with innovative companies that conduct business in Canada, the United States, Europe and elsewhere. He also regularly works with foreign associates to assist them and their clients with procuring patent protection within Canada.

Martin is an editor of IP Update — Canada, the firm's intellectual property law bulletin.
