Jahdiel Larraguibel is an articling student in our Toronto office. He has recently received his Juris Doctor from the Faculty of Law at Western University.

During his legal studies, Jahdiel was active in the IP community at Western University. He was a member of the Community Legal Services IP team, and was the president of the Western Intellectual Property Association during the 2016/2017 academic year. Jahdiel also served as research assistant to the director of the Intellectual Property, Information, and Technology area of concentration at Western University. He received the highest standing in Advanced Patent Law.

Jahdiel completed his M.Sc. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Guelph. His thesis titled, “Investigating the Role of Wnt in the Activation and Localization of Nkd1,” focused on a cell signaling pathway related to colorectal cancer. Jahdiel obtained a B.Sc. in Biology with a specialization in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Waterloo. During his undergraduate studies, Jahdiel spent a semester studying cancer biology and cell division at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.

Prior to his legal studies, Jahdiel worked at a biotech company helping companies and universities globally to develop custom protein and antibodies for their research.
