Emily Miller is an articling student in Smart & Biggar’s Ottawa office. She recently completed her Juris Doctor at the University of British Columbia.

Emily has received a number of accolades for her academic work. During her undergraduate studies, she was awarded the Queen’s University Excellence Scholarship, the Queen’s School of Music Chamber Music Prize, and was on the Queen’s University Dean’s Honour List. During her graduate studies, she was awarded the First Prize for Graduate Student Oral Presentation, Biological Chemistry Division, at the Canadian Chemistry Conference, as well as the University of British Columbia Chemistry Graduate Fellowship. During her legal studies she received the Giroday Family Scholarship in Law.

While at law school, Emily participated in the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot and was invited with her team to the oral round of competition at Oxford University. She also competed in the national round of the Philip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition where her team won Best Written Memorial.
