Daniel Anthony specializes in all aspects of trademark and copyright law. He is also one of Canada’s leading experts in intellectual property issues relating to the internet, social media and domain names, advising clients ranging from start-ups to fortune 500 companies.

Daniel has more than 10 years’ experience as a litigator, including cases involving trademarks, copyright and domain names. He has appeared as counsel before the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and Ontario Superior Court.

Daniel has handled the clearance, prosecution and registration of hundreds of trademarks, and has successfully represented clients in dozens of trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademarks Office.

Daniel is sought out for his success in removing infringing content from the internet quickly and efficiently, regardless of jurisdiction. He has assisted many clients in recovering domain names, both through negotiation and contested domain name arbitration proceedings.

Daniel regularly advises clients in the area of copyright law, including registration, strategic management, ownership and control, licensing and enforcement.

Daniel has a talent for connecting with clients and for bringing clarity and efficiency to even the most complex issues.

Daniel has published extensively, including in international publications such as World Trademark Review and Patent World. He has been called on as a speaker within the profession and has been interviewed as a legal expert by the media, both for live radio and in print.
