Biography
Marc Gagnon is a partner in our Montreal office. He practises in all fields of intellectual property including patents, industrial designs and trade-marks, both in Canada and abroad. His expertise notably covers sporting products, security equipment, forestry equipment, farm equipment, hydraulic equipment, household equipment and recreational products such as snowmobiles, watercraft and all-terrain vehicles.
Mr. Gagnon has considerable experience in legal opinion work including advising on the patentability of innovations, providing patent infringement opinions, patent validity opinions, market clearance opinions, advising on the registrability or availability of trade-marks and providing design or trade-mark infringement opinions. He prepares and prosecutes patent, design and trade-mark applications. Mr. Gagnon is also involved in litigation cases pertaining to patents or designs.
Mr. Gagnon has lectured to our clients and to lawyers groups on patent and industrial design protection in Canada and in the United States. For example, he presented to the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada on the topic of Everything you always wanted to know about industrial designs (Canada and the United States) but never dared to ask in Montreal on January 27, 2004.
