Our lawyers are educated and have developed considerable expertise in diverse technical fields including electrical and electronic engineering; chemical and biochemical engineering; organic and inorganic chemistry; computer engineering; biochemistry and cell biology; immunology and genetics; metallurgy; civil and mechanical engineering; mining and agriculture engineering. More than three dozen of our professionals have earned post-graduate degrees.
The preeminence of our professionals has been recognized nationally and internationally. We have been honoured by the international publication Managing Intellectual Property as having more leading experts in patent and trade-mark law than any other firm in Canada. We have also more lawyers than any other firm that have been recommended by The Canadian Legal LEXPERT Directory, in the areas of intellectual property and intellectual property litigation.
In addition, our firms have been actively involved in the leadership of intellectual property organizations in Canada and internationally. For instance, our partners have regularly presided over the Canadian branch of AIPPI, the world's largest intellectual property organization; ten times over the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, and twice over the Canadian Bar Association's intellectual property section. One of our partners is also a member of the International Trademark Association's Board of Directors. We have also participated in the drafting of domestic international property legislation and advised the Canadian government in international diplomatic agreements.
